Finished Size
8″ [20 cm] wide x 57″ [145 cm] long

Gauge
12 sts and 8 rows = 4″ [10 cm] in pattern

Don’t forget to do a gauge swatch for this stitch pattern!

Pattern Note
Do not cut the yarn at the end of each row; carry the unused yarn loosely up the side as you work.

Wave Stitch

Wave Stitch chart
Worked over a multiple of 6 sts + 1. Work 1-row stripes in sequence B, C, D throughout.
With B, chain a multiple of 6 + 2.
Foundation Row (WS): Sc in 2nd ch from hook, *hdc in next ch, dc in next ch, tr in next ch, dc in next ch, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch; rep from * across, changing to next color in sequence on last st, turn.
Row 1 (RS): Ch 4 (counts as tr throughout), *dc in next st, hdc in next st, sc in next st, hdc in next st, dc in next st, tr in next st; rep from * across, changing to next color in sequence on last st, turn.
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first st, *hdc in next st, dc in next st, tr in next st, dc in next st, hdc in next st, sc in next st; rep from * across, changing to next color in sequence on last st, turn.
Maintaining established color sequence, repeat Rows 1 & 2 for pattern.

Instructions

With B, ch 26.
Foundation Row (WS): Sc in 2nd ch from hook, *hdc in next ch, dc in next ch, tr in next ch, dc in next ch, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch; rep from * across, changing to next color in sequence on last st, turn—5 sc, 8 hdc, 8 dc, 4 tr.
Beginning with Row 1, work in Wave Stitch pattern until piece measures 57″ [145 cm] from beginning.
Fasten off. Weave in ends, except the final tails of each color.
